Caitlin Sotelo, Autism Consultant and special education teacher at Garden City Achieve, recently received the 2024 Outstanding Educator of Students with Autism Award by the MSLBD Richard L. Simpson Conference on Autism.
Sotelo was recognized for her teaching career, educating, supporting, and improving the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. She has been a passionate and dedicated educator in the classroom and beyond. Sotelo excels as a teacher leader and innovator who supports other educators and staff in her building, district, and region working with students with ASD.
Sotelo was honored at the Sixth Annual Richard L. Simpson Conference on Autism in October. The Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavior Disorders is a non-profit organization that fosters professional and family leadership advancing equitable education opportunities and outcomes for students with emotional/behavioral disorders, autism, or related behavioral challenges.
