GCCCA to host GED graduation on May 30

Garden City Career Connection Academy (GCCCA) will host its 2025 GED graduation ceremony on Friday, May 30, at 10:00 AM in the KCB Bank Auditorium located inside the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building on the Garden City Community College campus.

In addition to recognizing GED graduates, the ceremony will also honor students who have recently earned American citizenship and those who have transitioned to Garden City Community College through the post-secondary and AO-K (Accelerating Opportunity-Kansas) programs.

Claudia Horney, Director of GCCCA, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming event. “We are overjoyed about this event in which we will celebrate students’ accomplishments, their dedication, perseverance, and hard work have paid off, and this event stands as a testament to the power of resilience and determination. Earning their GED is not just a certificate—it’s a symbol of their commitment to growth and their unwavering belief in their own potential. Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone! Every challenge they faced along the way was met with strength and determination, proving that they are capable of overcoming anything that stands in their path.”

GCCCA is committed to providing innovative opportunities that help participants achieve their educational and life goals in a supportive, lifelong learning environment. Services include instruction and tutoring in basic reading, writing, and math; GED test preparation; English Language Acquisition (ELA); civics education; digital literacy; and family literacy activities.
