BUSTERCON, Garden City Community College’s annual comic convention, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 28 inside the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex back gym.
This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
Now in its third year, BUSTERCON will feature 40+ vendors, including authors, artists, illustrators, collectors, cosplay enthusiasts, and more.
Attendees can browse original artwork, purchase unique merchandise, meet special guests, and celebrate their favorite fandoms alongside community members of all ages.
A costume contest will once again highlight the afternoon’s festivities, offering participants the chance to showcase creativity and compete for prizes.
For everyone’s safety, any fake or prop items such as swords, knives, or firearms must be screened at check-in. Security will clearly mark approved items. Props deemed overly realistic or unsafe will not be permitted inside the event.
This year’s featured media guest is Santiago Cirilo, U.S. Army veteran, actor, writer, producer, director, and motivational speaker who uses his platform to advocate for mental health awareness. Additional guests and vendors include:
- BadAsh – Cosplayer
- Christen Stovall – Author
- William Brian Johnson – Author
- Mr. J. Coe – Cosplayer
- Jennifer M. Bloom – Author
Artists, creators, collectors, and vendors are invited to be part of this vibrant, one-day celebration of comics, pop culture, and creativity.
Vendor registration is still open, with limited spots remaining.
