GCCC to host STEM Showcase on Feb. 7

Garden City Community College, through its Title III STEM program and in cooperation with the Western Kansas Career Showcase, will host a STEM Career Showcase from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7 at the GCCC STEM Success Center.

The event is free and open to the public and is designed to connect students and community members with in-demand STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers and education pathways shaping the future of Western Kansas.

The STEM Career Showcase is open to a wide audience, including:

  • High school students exploring future career options
  • Adults and community members looking to upskill, reskill, or advance in their current careers
  • Individuals considering a career change into a STEM field
  • Parents and families, who are welcome to attend the introductory and Garden City Community College information session

Key focus areas of the showcase include:

  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Crop Production
  • Math and Engineering
  • Robotics and Automation

Attendees can interact directly with regional business partners, gain insight into real-world STEM careers and local workforce needs, and learn how Garden City Community College can help them launch or advance a career in STEM.

Unlike traditional career events, the STEM Career Showcase is not limited to high school students. It is intentionally designed to support adult learners, working professionals, and community members seeking new skills or career growth in high-demand STEM fields.

Additional highlights of the event include a scholarship drawing for attendees and a free lunch. Parents attending only the introduction and GCCC information session do not need to complete separate registration.

More information and registration details are available online at STEM Career Showcase.
