A reception celebrating student artwork is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, in the USD 457 Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming St.
As part of celebrating Youth Art Month, student artwork has been on display and can be viewed during regular business hours through the end of March.
Art is an important tool as a means of expression for children of all ages. Art helps children explore their thoughts and emotions and translate them into something creative. Children become more self-aware, communicate better, and have an improved sense of self-esteem and well-being when they practice the arts.
Youth Art Month is celebrated in March every year across the country since 1961. The event celebrates all things related to the arts, which encourages support and celebrates visual art education for grades K – 12.
