Newborns to receive co-branded onesies through GCCC, CommonSpirit St. Catherine Hospital

Garden City Community College and CommonSpirit St. Catherine Hospital recently announced a new partnership celebrating the newest members of the Broncbuster family.

Through this collaboration, every baby born at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City will receive a complimentary, co-branded onesie featuring the message: “Welcome New GCCC Broncbuster born at CommonSpirit St. Catherine Hospital Garden City.”

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to community pride and investment in the future of southwest Kansas. By welcoming newborns as future Broncbusters from their very first day, GCCC and CommonSpirit Health are reinforcing their dedication to education, health, and lifelong opportunity.

“This partnership is a meaningful way to celebrate the newest members of our community,” said Dr. Ryan Ruda, President of Garden City Community College. “At GCCC, we believe in supporting students at every stage of life. While college may be many years away for these newborns, we are proud to welcome them into the Broncbuster family from the very beginning.”

CommonSpirit Health leadership highlighted how partnerships like this play a vital role in building stronger, more connected communities.

“At St. Catherine Hospital, we are honored to care for families during some of life’s most important moments,” said Jason Justus, President of St. Catherine Hospital – Garden City, St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City, and Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. “Partnering with Garden City Community College allows us to celebrate not only the birth of each child, but also the bright future that lies ahead. Together, we are investing in the health and educational success of our community.”

The co-branded onesies will be distributed to families in the maternity unit beginning in May. The program is designed to foster school spirit, community pride, and a strong sense of belonging from the very start.
