Community invited to learn about future of Towns Riverview water system

Residents of Towns Riverview North and Towns Riverview South are invited to attend one of two upcoming community meetings to learn about the future of their neighborhood water system and participate in an important community conversation.

The meetings are being facilitated by LiveWell Finney County in partnership with community and state stakeholders to support education and engagement throughout the process.

The meetings will be held:

• Wednesday, August 5 from 6:30–8:30 p.m.
• Thursday, August 6 from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Both meetings will take place at Charles Stones Intermediate School, 401 N. Jennie Barker Road, Garden City.

“Access to clear, accurate information is essential when communities are facing important decisions,” said Callie Dyer, Executive Director of LiveWell Finney County. “These meetings are an opportunity for Towns Riverview residents to learn about the current situation, ask questions, and better understand the options available for the future of their community’s water system. We encourage every resident to attend and be part of the conversation.”

For more than 40 years, the Towns Riverview neighborhoods have been served by a privately owned water system. State regulators have determined that the system now meets the definition of a public water utility.

Community members are invited to learn more about what this means, hear about potential next steps, and ask questions in an open, informative setting.

The meetings are designed to provide residents with clear information about the current situation, discuss available options, and explain the process should the community choose to pursue the formation of a Rural Water District.

No decisions will be made during these meetings, but resident participation is essential as the community considers the future of its water service.

Spanish interpretation will be available, and all residents are encouraged to attend the session that best fits their schedule.
