Career Connection Academy graduation May 31

Garden City Career Connection Academy (GCCCA) will hold its 2024 GED graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. May 31 in the KCB Bank Auditorium inside the GCCC Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building.

“We are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of over 60 GCCCA students who will be graduating with their GED,” GCCCA Director Claudia Horney said. “Each student’s achievement is commendable, and we take immense pride in their success. Obtaining a GED marks a significant milestone, offering a gateway to many opportunities for further education and career advancement.”

Horney said the GED credential opens doors to colleges, employers, and universities across the United States.

“We are confident these individuals are equipped to pursue their next endeavors with determination and excellence. Congratulations to all graduates – your journey forward starts here,” she said.

GCCCA strives to provide innovative opportunities that promote and help participants successfully meet their educational and life goals in an environment committed to lifelong learning.

GCCCA services include instruction and tutoring in basic reading, writing, and math; preparation for the GED test; English Language Acquisition (ELA); Civics classes; digital literacy classes and family literacy activities.

GCCCA also partners with Tyson Foods to offer classes to Tyson employees on campus at Garden City Community College or on-site at the Tyson plant.
