The Garden City Community College (GCCC) Endowment Association recently announced the conference room in the Student & Community Service Center (SCSC) has been renamed “Loretta Schultz Conference Room.”

This renaming follows the 2024 GCCC Endowment Scholarship Auction, where Hannah Schultz secured the three-year naming rights for the SCSC meeting space in memory of her late mother, Loretta Schultz.

“Some of my first memories are of my mom sitting at the kitchen table with my brother’s friends and helping them with college applications, essays, and future education plans,” Hannah Schultz said. “She held such a high esteem for education and the impact it makes on a person’s life. I can’t imagine a better way to honor her than this.”

A commemorative plaque was presented to recognize this dedication on July 12.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the renaming of this prestigious conference room,” said Lenzy Kuebler, Director of the GCCC Endowment Association. “The GCCC Endowment Association is grateful to the Schultz family for their generous gift in our scholarship auction to support students.”
GCCC President Dr. Ryan Ruda expressed his gratitude.

“The Schultz family have been strong supporters of Garden City Community College for years, and I fondly remember Loretta. It is a great honor to name this conference room in her memory.”

The newly named Loretta Schultz Conference Room will continue to serve as a valued space for
important meetings and presentations at GCCC. For more information on the GCCC Endowment Association, please visit https://gcccendowment.com/ or contact 620-276-0412.
