Garden City High School Jazz Band I received a I rating, and Jazz Band II received a II rating at the Friends University Jazz Festival in Wichita on Feb. 20.
A panel of three expert jazz musicians scored and critiqued the performances.
Additionally, the following students were awarded recognition as outstanding musicians:

- Makenah Stucky – Alto Saxophone
- Aiden Valdivia – Alto Saxophone
- Aiden Valdivia – Trumpet
Ryan Partin is the band director at Garden City High School.
