HALO to host 37th annual Hispanic Student Day

The Garden City Community College Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) will host the 37th Annual Hispanic Student Day from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 15 in the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex at Garden City Community College.

Hispanic Student Day is designed to empower and encourage high school students to pursue higher education and make informed decisions that expand their educational opportunities and future success.

The conference will introduce students to college life through engaging sessions on College 101, Paying for College, Academic & Support Resources, and an Information Fair. Keynote speakers for this year’s event include Dr. Jared Torres and Robert De Leon.

Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attending students and their high school sponsors.

Free online registration is open to all high school students and must be completed by April 6 at https://gcccks.formstack.com/forms/hispanic_student_day_2026.

All high school seniors who attend will be entered into a drawing for three $500 scholarships to Garden City Community College.

Interested students are encouraged to speak with their high school counselors or sponsors for more information.
