Student artwork on display this month at USD 457 Educational Support Center

As part of Youth Art Month, artwork by Garden City Public Schools students is on display during regular business hours at the USD 457 Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street.

A reception is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. March 23 in the Educational Support Center Board Room.

Youth Art Month is designed to promote art and art education across the United States. It is observed in March and encourages support and celebrates visual art education for grades K – 12.

Youth Art Month is intended to recognize all of the skills that children develop by practicing the arts, including creativity, communication, and problem solving.

Art helps children explore their thoughts and emotions and translates them into something creative. Children become more self-aware, communicate better, and have an improved sense of self-esteem and well-being when they practice the arts.
